WDIV news coverage of campus health and safety measures

The University recently received positive news coverage by WDIV in Detroit for the institution’s efforts to implement health and safety measures as the fall semester quickly approaches.

With the term set to begin Aug. 24, WDIV spent considerable time at both the McNichols Campus and School of Dentistry campus in Corktown to find out how the University is prepared to welcome students back to school in a safe manner. Although the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic have significantly impacted all organizations and businesses around the world, Detroit Mercy is working to ensure that students can stay on track with their studies and graduate on time based on their academic goals and plans.

On Monday, Aug. 10, WDIV featured the School of Dentistry’s efforts to implement health and safety preventative measures focused on protecting students, faculty, staff and patients. Then on Tuesday, Aug. 11, WDIV featured the preventative measures on the McNichols Campus. Both stories aired between 6-7 a.m. on both days.

The University is grateful to WDIV for this important and timely coverage. Many students in Michigan are still trying to decide what they will do for their studies and both stories provide important information regarding Detroit Mercy’s efforts to ensure their health and safety on campus.
