Tamika Thompson-Sloan, D.D.S., M.S., to be awarded ADEA/AAL Faculty of Color Tuition Scholarship

Dr. Tamika Thompson-Sloan, clinical assistant professor in the Department of Periodontology & Dental Hygiene, has been selected as a recipient of the 2017 American Dental Education Association (ADEA)/Academy for Academic Leadership (AAL) Faculty of Color Tuition Scholarships for Professional Development: ADEA/ALL Chairs and Academic Administrators Management Program (ADEA/AAL CAAMP). The award presentation will take place at the 2017 ADEA Annual Session and Exhibition in Long Beach, CA during the plenary session on Monday, March 20th at 8:30 a.m.

The ADEA/AAL Faculty of Color Tuition Scholarships for Professional Development enable faculty of color to participate in programs that will improve teaching abilities, increase leadership skills, and advance understanding and mastery of other critical elements of a successful academic career.  Supported by the ADEAGies Foundation and AAL, scholarships cover the cost of tuition for selected programs, which will take place during the summer and fall of 2017.
